Christmas Decor GONE!

I hope everyone had a joyous Christmas. We sure enjoyed the time with our kids. Two new daughters this year, since our two sons got married.
On Monday, the day after Christmas, BabyLove took down all the Christmas Decor and wound up taking two truck loads of stuff to the shed for storage until next year. Wow.....that was a lot of work on his part. He was so sweet to do all that for me. Some of it was the Fall decor that I still had in the guest room. Instead of taking it out to the shed when I went out for the Christmas Tubs, I just left it in the guest room. It made extra work for BabyLove....sorry about that dear.

Yesterday, Wednesday, I had an empty living room. All the surfaces, (mantle, sideboard, tables, antique radios,...) was totally bare.....gasp! My daughter in law, Brittany, had been over Monday night and said everything looked so empty. And she was right. I had so much Christmas Clutter that when it was all removed, it certainly did look empty.
This morning, I got up to a newly redecorated home. It will stay this way a while...., well, maybe. I do have "Decor ADHD!" I seem to have to change it up a bit each season and sometimes more. Here is what I did yesterday.:

I love the burst of a different color in the scheme of things. I added the lime flowers and candles on a whim and I totally love it.

My sideboard is my favorite piece of furniture in my home. I got that wonderful mirror at an antique store at a real bargain. I love leaning items against the wall instead of hanging them.

This Gorgeous Painting was one of my Christmas Gifts....from my son, Joel. Isn't it beautiful!

The mantle! Love the Key! I found it at hobby lobby on the clearance asile!

My hubby's little spot.....His antique radio gets a bit of decor too. Don't worry....he has an entire room that he has to himself to decorate. His mancave is full of things that he loves.
I need to do a blog post of the mancave. It is full of antique, whimsy, western, coca-cola, comical decor......It's all about who he is and what he loves. He is a History Buff.

Don't you love how changing out pillows on the furniture just makes everything look totally fresh and different?!

The Birdcage is another Hobby-Lobby find. BabyLove found it and brought it to me when I was in the check out line. Just had to have it! :)

I am now, going to get my scrapbook room organized and can't wait to get to working in there again. It's been quite a while since I had time to do any scrapbooking.

Hope everyone will enjoy getting back in the groove again, and getting your homes back to normal after the Christmas festivities.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Stockings!

Thought I'd share our stockings for the year. Don't forget, you can click on the photo to enlarge it.
My daughter in law, Caryn and I made these for her, my other daugher in law, Brittany, and myself.

These are the ones for the "men" in the family!
There's even one for this little guy on there. His is the Red and green one, with the reindeer on it.

More Pictures of our Christmas Decorations!

I am loving our time together as a family this Christmas. Although we are empty nesters, all our kids live nearby, so we are getting together often.
We'll be doing our gift opening on Christmas Night, to accomodate everyone's schedule. Can't wait. I'm excited about every one's gifts! Can't wait to see everyone gathered around, opening their gifts, sharing laughter and the joy of the season!

Enjoy the pics. Don't forget to click on the pic to see the original larger size.

A New Coffee Nook in my Kitchen!

I guess "coffee station" would be a better word, since a nook probably requires seating.

I got a Keurig from my Church. Being a Pastor's wife has so many pros, that the cons are outweighed mightily. They love me and that means more to me than anything they could ever give me.

I wanted to set up a station just for the keurig and all the K-cups. Yummy Coffee in a few seconds!

Thank you to my Church Family!

Our "Antique Toy" Display on the Sofa Table

When I was a little girl, I always wanted a Mrs. Beasley Doll. (Pictured above) I knew someone who had one and when I would be at her house she would say, "You can look at her put don't pick her up." I really was sad that I couldn't hold Mrs. Beasley. How many of you remember Mrs. Beasley?
Hubby got her for me this year! He gave her to me early so that she could be a part of our Antique Toy Display.

These Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls were made by my mother, and I'm so glad to have them. They are a treasure to me.

This little monkey we purchased from an antique store. It is identical to the one my hubby had as a child.! He's sitting on a very old container of Lincoln Logs.

This Yellow Wagon is about 40 years old. BabyLove got it from ebay, because he had one just like it when he was a child. It was a Christmas present one year. He was very excited about getting it. It is in very great condition.

I need to take a picture of the Quilt it is all sitting on. It was made for me by my mother. It has a Raggedy Ann and Andy on it. So cute and such a great keepsake!

I hope you enjoyed my Antique Toy Display!

And So, It Begins.......

Gone is the Thanksgiving/Autumn decor and up goes the festive Christmas Adornments to our homes.
Merry Christmas to all.
Enjoy your decorating. Don't get too stressed out.
There's nothing like the feeling when your decor is done and you can relax for the weeks ahead and enjoy the activities with your family.
My sweet daughter in law's helped me tremendously this year. I have a back issue which put me in bed for a couple of days and was so disraught that I couldn't get my decorating done. My home was to be in the Christmas Tour and I would have had to cancel if they had not helped me.

The Tree and a peek at the sideboard:

I put my doll house out every year. This was a very special gift one year from my son, Joel. He heard me say that I had always wanted a doll house for Christmas when I was a little girl but never asked for it because I thought my parents couldn't afford it. I just never told them I wanted one. Imagine my surprise when there was this huge box under the tree for me about 5 years ago. I cried a river when I opened it. Now, how can it get better than that? I am so blessed by the thoughtfulness of my boys. They will all be wonderful dad's someday.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Let the upcoming weeks be a time of Joy and celebration with your Family!

Thanksgiving Day

We had such a lovely Thanksgiving Day with our children. Trey and his wife Caryn, Andrew and his wife Brittany, and our middle son Joel.
I used my new Johnson Brothers "Friendly Village" transferware dishes. They made a lovely table and buffet. I saw them last year at Dillards and Rich and I both loved them. He got them for me this year for Christmas. I was so exctied to get them out of the boxes! Not only did he get me the dinnerware, but also all the serveware. I think they are perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course they can be used anytime at all if you like, but Fall and Winter are perfect for them.
